Does your pharmaceutical printer follow security parameters?

Name and fame is earned after a years of dedication and hard work. So, no matter if it is an individual or a pharmaceutical brand, reputation always remains priceless and cannot be compromised at any cost. There are more than required pharmaceutical printing companies, doing everything to attract drug manufacturing companies, sometimes offering heavy discounts, claiming to have the most advance machineries and at times even calling themselves the best.

However, when it comes to pharmaceutical printing, even quality should not be the only parameter to judge any printing company. You must focus on the security measures being followed by the company. A genuine pharmaceutical printing service provider will always have some security levels in their plants to retain the integrity of the system. If the supply chain loses the security part, anyone can steal the raw printing material and develop knock offs, leading to high risk of your reputation.

A secured printing plant is equipped with 24X7 surveillance camera all across the building to monitor staffs’ activities in the plant compound. Some other safety measures involve the uses of bar code scanners, vision scanners and glue detection systems. To strengthen the security system every necessary and possible steps are taken, such as check out the background of employees.

In addition to that many industry standard printers open themselves for periodic audits that determine the quality of their services. While dealing with printing companies in India enquire about what they do with the waste material of a project. Pharma projects are sensitive and cannot be bundled and sent for recycling. There is a proper procedure to destroy the waste material. They must be chopped with proper chipping machine.

If you are being approached by any pharmaceutical printing company, do ask for these things and you will never have to be in fear of losing your brand’s fame, garnered after years of hard work.

What Is Proofreading In Pre Press?

In pre press phase there are many sub phases which, determines the accuracy of the content or image to be printed in digital or laser printing format. Proofreading is one such phase which is defined as an examination of galley proof before it is actually sent for printing. In general terms, people often identify proofreading as copy editing and use both of the terms interchangeably, although the literal meaning of both the terms differs significantly for printers and publishers. Here, we will discuss proofreading from printers view.

Pre press activity begins as the type of project being taken. It can be brochures, advertising banners, books or manuals. These are drafted using texts, artworks, chart, graphs or all of them. Once a basic format has been created the sample is checked by the copy editor and not proofreader for error(s). At this preliminary stage, the document is checked for multiple times by the copy editor for error if there is any.

During the editing process being carried out by the editor the draft copy is closely examined for error that might include misused or misspelled words, incorrect grammar, poor content quality and typos. Before the copy passed on to the proofreader, it is the responsibility of the editor to catch all the errors.

The role of proofreading come after the document has been completely edited and forwarded for typesetting. Once the document is typeset, a printed copy of the document or manuscript is provided to the proofreader for meticulous examination of text and art related errors. Then the proofreader confirms that that the document is free of errors and assure that there will no error in the final printed copies.
